Sing Australia was started by Colin Slater OAM in 1985 and has grown to over 120 groups Australia-wide.
The forming of Wauchope was sponsored by Port Macquarie Sing Australia and the Wauchope community has continued to support and benefit from the group ever since.
“We love singing at community events like Australia Day, the Community Carols and also at places like Bundaleer aged care,” said co-leader, George Campbell.
“Our much-loved conductors and musicians Miriam Lattimore and Lorraine Garland as conductors and Clare Walker and Libby Hopley as accompanists patiently lead the group.”
Weekly meetings on Thursdays at 7pm at the Bethel Church Hall are enjoyed by members and many visitors through the regular ‘bring a friend’ evening.
The choir will celebrate its big birthday with an anniversary dinner tonight, Thursday February 22.
New members are always welcome. For more details on Wauchope Sing Australia, contact George Campbell on 6585 6536.
