After two years of trying to start a 13-a-side format for females, co-ordinator Belinda Anderson announced Comboyne, Beechwood, Kendall and Smithtown would all be represented.
Each team will have a squad of 20 players for the 30-minute halves with unlimited interchange.
“We could have tried to get a fifth team, but we’ll run out of time,” Anderson said.
“I’ve been trying to get a women's competition up and running since I stopped playing footy as a 12-year-old and I don’t want my daughter to have that problem.”
The competition will be played every Friday night in May at Lank Bain Sports Complex from 6.30pm with each team to play each other three times.
“We will play semi-finals and the final along with the Hastings League later in the season,” Anderson said.
Clubs are still searching for sponsors and are encouraged to call 0403 532 544 for further information.
