Carley Taylor remembered by Camden Haven after fatal accident on March 9

Tributes are flowing for North Haven’s Carley Taylor, who tragically lost her life after a car accident on Friday, March 9. 

The 17-year-old was active in the Camden Haven community and a member of groups including the Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club and the Camden Haven Eagles. 

President Michelle Garvan said Carley was a much loved and respected member of the Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club. 

“Rest in peace beautiful girl,” she said.

“Your smile is already very missed.”

Carley played in the Camden Haven Eagles Girls 9s competition in the opens team. 

“She was a fantastic player and wore her heart on her sleeve,” the club posted on social media. 

“She will be missed deeply.

“The club members send our deepest thoughts and prayers to Carley’s family, friends and team mates  through this most difficult time.

“On behalf of the entire Camden Haven Eagles committee we are here for you all and have you all deep in our thoughts.”

Carley passed away after a fatal crash on Beechwood Road at Yippin Creek on Friday afternoon.

Police said the accident happened just after 4pm on March 9.

A Holden Barina travelling north and a Hino truck travelling south collided head on, police confirmed.

Carley was treated by paramedics and taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital, where she passed away. 

The truck driver, a 34-year-old man, was injured and taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Bains Bridge was closed in both direction following the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
