Light vehicles travelling east are being diverted onto the New England Highway from Bendemeer via Uralla, then Waterfall Way via Dorrigo and Bellingen to the Pacific Highway.
The westbound diversion is the same in reverse.
This diversion will add around 90 minutes extra travel time.
Heavy vehicles are being parked.
Motorists are advised to allow plenty of additional travel time.
Traffic crews are on site.
