A man has been charged after he allegedly assaulted a police officer during an arrest at Lorne, near Port Macquarie, earlier this week.

Police attended a home on Lorne Road, about 45km from Port Macquarie, about 5pm on Tuesday, March 20, after reports of a domestic assault.
It’s alleged the man ran into bushland when officers arrived.
Police from Mid North Coast Police District commenced a search for him, with assistance from the Dog Unit.
When the man was located a short time later, it’s alleged he acted aggressively and assaulted a police officer.
The senior constable wasn’t injured.
The 41-year-old was arrested and taken under police guard to Port Macquarie Base Hospital where he was treated for an arm injury sustained during his arrest.
He was released Thursday, March 22 and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where he was charged with assaulting an officer in execution of duty and resist arrest.
The man was also charged with multiple domestic violence-related offences.
He was refused bail and appeared at Port Macquarie Local Court where he was remanded in custody to appear on May 9, 2018.
