Jaclyn won numerous honours in the coveted dairy cattle judging and took out three of the champion titles including supreme champion juvenile female; the best uddered cow and the supreme champion female.
It was the second year in a row Jaclyn’s cow has taken out the top honour.
“She’s a home bred cow so to do that ourselves is pretty special,” Jaclyn said.
Jess Daley of Wauchope won the supreme champion intermediate female title.
Competitors from across the Mid North Coast converged on Wauchope Showground for day one of competition on Friday, April 6 with judge Wes Brown among the keen eyes choosing the top specimens of the day.
Steward Mary Williams was impressed by the calibre of the competition adding the hard work in breeding and preparing dairy cows for competition has paid off for every entrant.
Show Society president Neil Coombes could not be more thrilled with day one which is to conclude with fireworks, music by country star Amber Lawrence and the highly anticipated Rooftop Express.
“People just love it,” Mr Coombes said of the country show billed as the Royal of the North.
“It’s God’s country here and the people who help us love Wauchope and love the show. It can’t happen without them.”
The beef cattle, dairy goat and poultry judging will get underway in the morning and will be followed by the coveted woodchop competition and from 2.30pm the grand parade and winner of the 2018 Wauchope Showgirl.
Saturday night will conclude with a demolition derby.
