Recently she was back home in Laurieton to work on a music video for the song. The areas of Kew, Bonny Hills and Lake Cathie feature in the clip. 

Emma said the community of the Camden Haven embodies what the song is all about, as people rally behind others who require support during tough times. 

Through her extensive travels in Australia, Emma has witnessed many people come together to help others. 

“I visited the small community of Weipa (on the coast of the Cape York Peninsula) and there was a woman  who was about 40-years-old and had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer,” she said. 

“She was diagnosed on the Wednesday and by Saturday the community, which had a population of about 4000, had raised $50,000 to help her,” she said. 

Emma said it’s amazing what people do for others and don’t expect anything in return. 

Emma has also been on the receiving end of kindness by an individual in the big city.

As she was trying to figure out train times to leave The National Songwriting Awards in Sydney a man came up to her and offered her his opal card to use for the train. 

The film clip features different ways that people pass on kindness to others. Emma said she asked for feedback from people as to what Pay it Forward meant to them to help her gather ideas for the clip. 

An old suzuki which was the car Emma learnt to drive in is featured in the film. It holds great memories for Emma, as it was owned by her pop who passed away 15 years ago. 

“I remember it was a great treat going four wheel driving with pop in the bug,” she said. 

Lake Cathie Medical Centre and Kew Corner Store also feature in the film clip. 

“Kew Corner Store is the perfect little country store,” she said. 

“We didn’t have to change a thing (for the filming).”

Emma thanked 16-year-old Sam Davison for filming and editing the video. 

Sam also did the filming of Emma’s first single Two Birds, which she said ‘blew her away’. 

She said with Pay it Forward Sam had stepped it up another notch and did lots of work behind the scenes to create the final product. 

The single Pay it Forward is set to be released on April 24. People can view it on the country music channel on Foxtel or on youtube.
