Ray has spent many years running a very good nursery at Tinonne near Taree, and has travelled many miles over Australia attending some of the biggest orchid shows, and speaking specifically on orchid-growing.

Greg Elliott says the society has formed the HOGG’s Group, which is a group of non-orchid growers who are being tutored at each monthly meeting on how to grow that most beautiful orchid with confidence and have success in flowering orchids from seedling through to flowering.

“So if you would like to come along and join in the HOGG’s group, you will be more than welcome to join and have some fun and learn at the same time,” he said.

“We have a growing competition going on as well and at every meeting there are orchids in flower, bromeliads and even some orchids for sale. You are invited to join our Society, learn, hands on the art of growing orchids, Bromeliads and more,” he added.
