Bain Park was the venue on Saturday April 21 and there was lots of fun for all the family.
The free festival brought together local creative talent, with a focus on homemade local art, craft and creative pursuits. The community event encouraged participation and interest in all forms of the arts.
It was facilitated by Creative Wauchope, a group of passionate, talented creative people and groups from Wauchope and beyond.
It was part of the Youth Week and Artwalk celebrations, and was proudly supported by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, NSW Youth Week 2018, the Wauchope Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Hastings Co-op.
“It has a really inclusive feel,” said Vana Ford of Creative Wauchope.
“We are delighted to see so many people enjoying themselves.”
Jennifer Fahey from Wauchope TAFE said there had been a lot of interest in their printmaking classes.
“It’s beautiful and I love it. It should be an annual event,” said Sam Hawk from Beechwood.
“We need more of this sort of thing in this area.”
Stallholder Steph Tynan from Blue Fox Props had some fabulous handmade replica props from favourite movies, TV shows and games.
“I sculpt everything out of clay first, and then it’s made into a silicon mould and then the mould makes copies of things and then it’s cast in polyurethane resin,” she explained.
Auntie and niece Debbie Reynolds and Jaime Franklin were delighted to get henna tattoos on their hands.
Another popular attraction was the drum circle and Bain Park was a fantastic venue for the event which put smiles on everyone’s faces.
