The new build will consolidate the existing Wauchope Ambulance Station site at 96 High Street with the neighbouring block at 94 High Street in Wauchope.
Works include the demolition of all existing structures and construction of a new single storey ambulance station.
Ms Pavey says this is a significant milestone in the NSW Government’s election commitment to build a new ambulance station at Wauchope as part of the $122 million Rural Ambulance Infrastructure Reconfiguration (RAIR) program.
A temporary station at 51 Cameron Street, Wauchope is undergoing a custom fit-out and operational commissioning to allow the seamless transfer of service operations.
“This will ensure the ongoing delivery of high quality mobile emergency medical care to the community of Wauchope and surrounds while the new station is being built,” said the Oxley member.
The purpose-built station has been designed with input from local paramedics and tailored to the needs of the local community.
Once completed, the Wauchope NSW Ambulance station will include:
- Internal parking for up to four emergency ambulance vehicles;
- Administration and office areas;
- Amenities;
- Logistics and storage areas;
- Relief quarters;
- External wash bay; and
- Staff parking
Construction is scheduled to begin on the new station by mid-2018.
