The concert is at the Kendall School of Arts on Sunday, May 20 at 2 pm and will feature flautist James Kortum, pianist Jeanell Carrigan and violist Hayasa Tanaka.
James Kortum is a distinguished flautist and is also a lecturer at the Sydney Conservatorium.
Jeanell Carrigan is one of Australia’s preeminent collaborative pianists and has performed regularly in the Kendall PhiloMusica series.
Violist Hayasa Tanaka returns to Kendall after performances with the Geist String Quartet at several previous Kendall concerts.
The Kendall PhiloMusica series explores the relationship between philosophy and music.
The performance on May 20 will be introduced with philosophical reflections on the relationship of music to myth and fables by PhiloMusica series founder and director Goetz Richter.
The talk commences at 1pm and attendance is free for holders of a concert ticket.
Proceeds from the Kendall PhiloMusica series benefit the Kendall National Violin Competition.
