The final approval for the new ambulance station at Wauchope is fantastic news. This represents good government works, and should be commended as such. But it does raise some concerns about prioritIes when it comes to Wauchope.

Why didn't the local member, Melinda Pavey, build the ambulance station when she first promised? During the last election campaign she said it would be built six months after she was elected. When this didn't happen, she said the ambulance station was to be found in the budget's forward estimates.
It makes me wonder what other big ticket line item for Wauchope might be sitting in the forward estimates if the new ambulance station had been built when she first promised?
Ms Pavey seems to be conveniently recycling her promises from the previous election in a new election year. This suggests a measure which satisfies Ms Pavey's immediate political needs; rather than the truer measure of satisfying the community's needs.
