Wauchope Boxing Club took a team to compete at Taree PCYC boxing tournament on Saturday April 28.
Jack Potter was first to compete in an awesome exhibition bout showing his talent for boxing.
Brock Hollis toughed it out in an extremely hard fight with his opponent getting the win on the night.
Skye Hollis went out hard and left nothing to chance dominating her opponent in the first round.
Skye did not let up in round 2, her opponent receiving two standing 8 counts, and the referee stopped the fight to give Skye the win.
Beau Dark fought an absolutely gruelling war.
He gave 110% for the entire bout overcoming extreme fatigue in round 3 but he kept fighting even though he was out on his feet to take the win on points.
On Saturday May 5, we travelled to Goulburn PCYC boxing tournament with our youngest fighter Jack Potter.
It was a hard-fought battle with Jack winning the first round. His opponent wasn’t going down easily, he got a second wind and kept fighting to win round 2.
Round 3 saw Jack dig deep knowing he needed to win the round to win the bout. He fought back to get the decision in a close one to claim his first victory. Congratulations Jack we are so proud of you.
You all did yourselves, your club and your community proud.
And our boxers would like to thank their sponsors, A Classy Cafe, Troy Dickson Earthmoving and CES Australia.
