It was one of the truly great community events for the Port Macquarie-Hastings, but sadly, Colonial Week is no more.

Now resigned to the memories of many people, Colonial Week was a time when Wauchope and its hinterland could celebrate all the good things about living and working in this wonderful region.
And those wonderful memories are shared often.
Fiona Gordon (nee McAndrew) has been in contact with the Gazette about the annual celebration.
She has been trying to source a few photographs from her personal files, one includes her dancing the maypole.
“My mother is Jeanette McAndrew and she was listed on one of the programs as the treasurer,” Mrs Gordon said.
“My mum and dad used to own the Bluebird Fruit and Veg Delicatessen in High Street and we lived above the store.
“Wauchope holds many great memories for me growing up.”
Mrs Gordon wants to see if other locals or former locals have photographs they are willing to share.
