The allocations were announced last week.
Among the local benefactors are, Wauchope Uniting Church Community Meals Program.
That group received $3000 to provide funding toward the replacement of windows in their kitchen.
The current kitchen provides a free meals program to the socially isolated and venerable members of the community, over 10 volunteers assisting in the program with no paid employees, feeding over 50 people per week.
Wauchope Hockey Club received $1805 to fund the purchase of four junior coaching kits.
The kits will provide the hockey club with the essential equipment for our youth for training and playing competitive hockey in the Hastings community.
The Wauchope Bonny Hills Surf Life Saving club will use its $3000 to purchase safety equipment for one of its female boat crews.
The crew currently use men’s helmets and also use the men’s oars. The helmets are compulsory when the surf conditions become rough.
The Beechwood Rugby League Club will use its $1500 to purchase much-needed first aid equipment to ensure player safety.
The Hastings District Pony Club’s $2417 will continue to assist the club in its rebuilding phase.
Specifically, the funds will be used to repair vital equipment including an equipment trailer and also help purchase a bench top oven for the club’s popular canteen.
The Rotary Club of Wauchope will use $5000 to provide some funding toward erecting weather shelters over existing seating and tables along the riverside boardwalks and footpaths along the Hastings River.
Once installed, they will provide shelter from the elements for people enjoying the board walk.
Riding for the Disabled Wauchope said its $900 will go toward the cost of replacing two gates. The RDA’s horses are maintained at the Wauchope Showground and the gates are a vital piece of equipment to ensure the safety of its many horses.
Holiday Coast Credit Union’s 2018 Community Partnership Grants totalling $73,000 went to 33 organisations.
Holiday Coast Credit Union CEO Neville Parsons said it was the members who did business with Holiday Coast Credit Union that enabled the credit union to allocate part of its profits to community groups.
“We at Holiday Coast remain committed to the growth and wellbeing of our local communities and the support of the many volunteer groups that enhance those communities,” he said.
