Reg Pierce was installed at the annual changeover dinner on Tuesday June 19.
Mr Pierce said the year ahead would continue to good work of his predecessor Neville Parsons.
"Rotary will continue this year in a similar vein to the previous 12 months under Neville," Mr Pierce said.
"We will be concentrating on even more community work.
"Some of the projects could include, continuing to push the concept of a rotunda in Bain Park, a viewing platform above Spencers Cutting and working with fellow Rotary clubs in the local cluster.
"There is a genuine need for more work too in relation to our homeless in this area," he said.
Mr Pierce said the club would also conclude the covers for picnic tables at Rocks Ferry Reserve and other projects.
In his club report, Mr Parsons praised his fellow Rotarians for their efforts over the past 12 months.
"We have been challenged by our Australian Rotary International president Ian Riseley through our collective efforts as Rotarians to 'making a difference'," Mr Parsons said.
"I am proud to note that our Rotary Club has qualified for a 2017/18 presidential citation as a result of us achieving the criteria set by Mr Riseley and Rotary International.
"Congratulations to all members for supporting our Club Plans and Actions this year. I am so proud of what we, as a club, have achieved and most importantly the difference we have made in our community and the communities of the world."
One of the major projects undertaken during the last 12 months was the club's commitment and involvement in the Rebuild Pappinbarra program.
The club raised some $30,000 through various streams. Those funds were distributed to residents in the Pappinbarra area.
