Delivering for our growing community simply cannot happen effectively unless council works in collaboration with residents, and all levels of government. Council staff work very hard to prepare a number of funding submissions for state and federal grants so projects like this can come to life. Master plans and designs shaped by our community’s feedback are critical to the success of these applications, and showcase the collective vision for our region’s future.
A big thanks to everyone who has passionately supported the funding for this much needed project, and to Luke Hartsuyker for working with council to achieve yet another great outcome for our region. For more information on what council is up to in our community visit pmhc.nsw.gov.au/projects
New amenities and playgrounds
With the school holidays in full swing, it’s great to see many young families out and about exploring all our region has to offer.
The great news is that Lasiandra Park in Wauchope, and playgrounds at Laurieton Oval, and Laura Place in Laurieton, have all been completed in time for the kids time-off. Pump tracks for bikes, new slides, flying foxes and natural play elements will all surely get a work out before school goes back.
In the last week the new Shelly Beach amenities were also completed, bringing a fresh new look to the reserve and delivering a much better experience for users of the space. There are plenty more upgrades to our recreational facilities planned in the next 12 months such as replacing the skate park in Kendall, upgrading playgrounds at Herons Creek and North Haven, and so much more.
