The pupils ran or walked one kilometre every day last term to hit their very impressive target of 1,000 kms.
“We called the project the ‘Kayaday Club’,” said Mrs Best, as she and the children completed their final laps.
“I’m very proud of what we have achieved. Our motto is ‘Courage to start. Strength to continue. Determination to finish,’” added the teacher.

Jack Tijou said he enjoyed running a kilometre every day and reaching their big goal.
“We are registered in the Indigenous Marathon foundation,” he said.
They will run two one or two kilometres each next term, and it will be another team event.
“The club is fun, and it’s great running every day,” said Kelly Wade.
As they finished their last lap, Year 6JB’s buddy class, Mrs Barnett’s kindergarten kids, presented the runners with medals.
“Our two classes do activities together, and it gives the younger children somebody big in the playground that they know,” said Mrs Barnett.
Congratulations to all the young runners.
