The fire broke out earlier today (Friday, July 20) and has damaged a large trailer which was stored in a shed. A number of RFS crews are at the scene.
“The fire has crossed the road and it is currently on both sides of the Bellangry Road,” said Stuart Robb from NSW Rural Fire Service.
“We are getting winds of 40 to 50 kms an hour from the South, so if hazard reduction fires are not put out properly, they really get going,” he added.
“Residents in the area should take care. The alert level is at ‘Watch and Act’.”added Mr Robb.
Earlier, the RFS warned landholders to be careful of hazard reduction burns after three blazes in the Hastings area yesterday, Thursday July 20.
