In town this weekend – August 18-19 – Westport Park looks set to pumping as the Aussie Night Markets are ready to put on a show and organiser Sam Adams said the markets will be an event for the whole community.
“Initially the markets started as a way to bring the community together in Sydney,” Mr Adams said.
“We wanted to give the community a large variety of different food stalls and something for the whole family to enjoy and from there it has grown to be a huge weekend event which includes shopping opportunities and rides for the kids.
“We then decided to explore coming out into the regions but Port Macquarie is definitely the furthest from Sydney we have come and we are so excited to get into the community.”
The markets open at 4pm on Saturday and run through until 9pm and return on Sunday from 12 noon to 8pm.
Mr Adams said the markets will be an International Street Foodies Market like no other.
“We are quite unique in that we come to town for the whole weekend; we will begin setting up on Friday afternoon and then the markets will be Saturday night and Sunday afternoon,” he said.
“After the success of the Aussie Night Markets in a few places we were getting contacted by people in the Port Macquarie community who wanted us to come and host a market weekend here and so we thought why not.
“When people arrive there will certainly be the wow factor with lots going on for everyone to enjoy.
“Over the weekend we will have Asian foods, burgers, schnitzels, wood fire pizzas, noodles and the list goes on but rest assured there will be something for the entire family.
“So come on down and have a great time with the whole family and eat some amazing foods.”
