The heavy patching work will be carried out between Toms Creek (37 kilometres west of Wauchope) and 85 kilometres to the west of Wauchope. While every effort will be made to minimise loose gravel on the road surface, motorists should exercise caution.
Work will be carried out in 10-day blocks, including weekends, between 7am and 6pm and will progressively move west along the 48 kilometre stretch of the Oxley Highway. The work is expected to be completed in October, weather permitting.
Traffic control with alternate traffic conditions will be in place during the works and short road closures may be required at times. A reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
