It’s to help develop local tennis clubs that deliver ANZ Tennis Hot Shots around the country. Long Flat Tennis Club will get a $10,000 grant, which includes merchandise, equipment, signage and access to a local ANZ specialist.
Long Flat Tennis Club will use the grant towards resurfacing their existing clay courts to provide an improved and all-weather playing experience for all members of the community.
Commenting on the initiative, ANZ Group Executive Fred Ohlsson said they were delighted to support Long Flat Tennis Club through the community grants program.
“ANZ Tennis Hot Shots enables us to continue our strong support of tennis at all levels right around Australia,” he said.
Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley said they were grateful for ANZ’s ongoing support of tennis and the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program, and their commitment to growing the game from the grassroots level up.
“We’re excited for Long Flat Tennis Club and we know they will make the most of this wonderful opportunity,” he added.
ANZ Tennis Hot Shots is Tennis Australia’s official tennis development program with a record 385,000 children between three and 12 years of age playing ANZ Tennis Hot Shots in 2016/17.
Players use smaller courts, lighter racquets, lower nets and low compression balls, making it suitable for children of all abilities.
