The event is aimed at all ages and all abilities and is a great way for people from all over the mid north coast to see and be a part of the ever-growing sport of 3X3.
The competition will be held between October 12 and 14 and anyone interested in urged to register.
“We cannot wait to set up our half courts at The Westport Club and see all the excitement that we know 3X3 brings to a community,” Matthew Hollard general manager, Champions League Basketball and CLB3X3 said.
“This event will attract a number of teams from outside the Port Macquarie region, which will have a strong economic impact for the area across the three days.”
CLB’s three-day event will combine elite sport with grassroots play with pre-registered games and free for all three point shoot outs, slam dunk contests and mini clinics.
“We have been travelling around Australia now since 2014, aligning ourselves with key community organisers, councils, event owners and local sporting organisations to provide junior and ppen players with a 3X3 competition in a festive and safe environment for families to enjoy,” Mr Holland said.
“Councils and community stakeholders play a big part in what we do and we are very appreciative of the support we have received so far from The Westport Club and the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.
The Westport Club’s community and sports manager Jenny Edmunds said the club is excited about the event.
“The Westport Club is ecstatic to extend their partnership with basketball to be a major sponsor in bringing the CLB3X3 to Port Macquarie,” she said.
“The CLB3X3 courts will be laid over a bowling green prior to its annual renovation so the timing of the event is perfect.
“We encourage the Port Macquarie-Hastings business community to get behind the Corporate Cup and indeed the entire event.”
Council is also excited to partner with CLB3X3, The Westport Club and the Port Macquarie Basketball Association to bring a unique and exciting sporting event to the region.
“The pop-up courts at The Westport Club will transform the area into a mini outdoor basketball arena that is set to create a fantastic spectacle, and one that I encourage all of our community to head down and experience,” mayor Peta Pinson said.
Players can register to compete in a range of competitions over the weekend from a Corporate Cup held on the Friday from 6pm; as a junior U13s to U18s player on the Saturday from 10am onwards or as an open or elite player on the Sunday.
Registrations starts at $100 per team for the juniors, $120 per team for the opens, $150 for the elite categories and Corporate Cup.
