The community is invited once again to indulge in the sight of fascinating flowers at the Camden Haven Orchid Society’s Spring Show.

The event is over the weekend on Saturday, September 8 and Sunday, September 9 at the Laurieton United Services Club.
“There will be orchids, bromeliads and foliage plants exhibited by enthusiasts from the Mid North Coast,” society secretary John Matthews said.
Orchid Society of NSW judges will be present to carefully select which exhibits should be awarded excellence.
Awards will be presented on Sunday, September 9 at 3pm by a board member from Laurieton United Services Club.
John said in spring people can witness the flowering of Cattleya, Cymbidium, Lycaste, Softcane Dendrobiums, exotic orchids from Africa and Africa.
He said the Australian Native Dendrobium Speciosum (rock orchid) is very prominent and Kingianum orchids.
These come in a range of colours including vivid white, red, green, yellow and other combinations.
There will be 13 classes of orchids on display with 69 sub sections.
The show is open to the public on Saturday, September 8 from 10am to 4pm and Sunday from 9.30am to 3pm.
A potting demonstration will on both days at 11am and presented by Allan Wallace on Saturday and Lloyd Edwards for Sunday.
There will be a society sales table for orchids, bromeliads, foliage plants and accessories together with growing notes on each genera.
Members of the society will be available to give advice on plants suitable to be grown in the region, in shade houses and hot houses.
Entry will be by donation, with proceeds going to local rural fire services.
