The Beechwood Cricket Club is looking forward to the new cricket season with more than the usual amount of excitement.

The new cricket season heralds in a fresh new look to the 100-year old club with Amy Riddle recently elected as the new Club President.

Amy is the first female to hold the position of president and only the second female President in the Hasting Association.

Amy is looking forward to the challenges and is very keen to increase the number of junior cricketers, both boys and girls, playing cricket for Beechwood.

Cricket is on Wednesday (starting September 12) from 4-5pm for the juniors wanting learn new skills.

This year, Beechwood Cricket Club will be running the new Blasters program to introduce kids to the game of cricket and help them learn new skills.

Junior Blasters is for kids new to cricket with participants building their skills through fun, game based activities. The games are designed for small groups to ensure every child gets a go, allowing them to test and learn new skills.

When they have mastered the basics, they will be ready to graduate to Master Blasters, where they can play modified games of cricket. The Club is encouraging girls and boys of all ages to come and have a game of cricket.

Seniors training will also start next Wednesday from 5pm.
