15-year-old Emily Wright has been selected to play in the Australian Mixed U21’s National Touch Rugby team to compete at the Trans-Tasman Tournament.
Australia will play New Zealand in Auckland on October 12 and 13, 2018.
Emily is the only player who was selected from NSW to play in the team, largely due to her performances at the NSW State Carnival in February and the State of Origin game at Coffs Harbour in June .
Stephen Perkins Chairman of the Lions Sports Foundation was delighted to assist the young star.
“Emily is very excited that she was selected and our club are happy to be able to help relieve some of the financial burden that comes with competing at an international level,” he said.
“This would not be possible without the help from local long term sponsors, such as Wauchope RSL,” he added.
