Now in its fourth year, the festival continues to grow bigger and attract people from a wide geographical area.
“There is a lovely community feel about the festival,” organiser Denis Juelicher said.
“Everyone is welcome here.”
Yoga enthusiasts came from all over including Sawtell, Valla, Mudgee, Hawks Nest and Karuah.
Rose Douglas came to the festival from Hawks Nest and said she thought it was fantastic the 2018 event had sessions on offer for yoga teachers.
“It gives us the opportunity to connect and network with other teachers,” she said.
“A lot of us work quite remotely, so it’s nice this event has brought us together.”
The event included a Healthy Living Expo and health talks on topics such as mental health, nutrition and ayurveda.
Talks, taster classes and a healthy living expo were open to the public free of charge.
The event even proved popular with the wildlife, with kookaburras watching on and interacting with the yogis.
Ekam Yoga Festival is organised by Random Acts of Yoga, a not-for-profit organisation based in Port Macquarie, which aims to improve the local community’s well-being through yoga.
