On Sunday, September 16 NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service firefighters were at the location.
Crews worked through the night to contain the 150 hectare fire.
There were no properties under threat.
Meanwhile residents may also be able to see smoke burning at other locations.
A 240 hectare hazard reduction burn is being carried out 9km south of Wauchope at Burrawan MFR Trial by the Forestry Corporation.
A 139 hectare bush fire is being controlled by the RFS on the Oxley Highway at Bagnoo.
A 30 hectare bush fire is also under control by the Forestry Corporation at Nine Tree Road, Wauchope.
