Each September, the Lions club raises the money for the collection of blood from the umbilical cords of newborns.
The funds are also used for the subsequent research using this blood, into a cure for Leukaemia in children.
Lions again conducted a successful raffle in conjunction with Hasting Co-op IGA and raised over $1000 for this great cause.
The lucky winner was Robyn Kirk of Wauchope who was excited to receive her prize of $300 worth of shopping vouchers with the supermarket.
Wauchope Lions thanks all those people who bought tickets and continue to support this and other community projects sponsored by Lions.
