The detours are in place as work continues on replacing the old timber structure.
The old timber bridge, on Comboyne Road and four kilometres south west of Byabarra, will be demolished and replaced with new pre-stressed concrete girders.
This work will be carried out during a 10 day full shutdown of Comboyne Road during which time the road will be closed to all through traffic at this bridge location.
The detour remains in place until Friday November 23.
During the shutdown of Comboyne Road all vehicles will be required to detour via Lorne Road.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time, follow all signage and instructions and to drive to the road conditions.
The works to replace the Hartys Creek Bridge started in July.
The existing timber bridge was originally constructed in 1955, and will be replaced with a reinforced 25m span concrete bridge that includes new guard rails, a smooth asphalt road surface and traffic signage.
The Hartys Creek Bridge replacement is due for completion by April 2019, weather permitting.
“Comboyne Road is an important connector between Wauchope and Comboyne which sees more than 750 vehicles use the road each day,” a council spokesperson said.
“With more than $3.5 million of bridge replacement works having already been completed at Bulli Creek and Hydmans Creek, it’s great to now commence work on upgrading the third and final timber bridge on Comboyne Road.”
The $2 million Hartys Creek Bridge Replacement is jointly funded by the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and the Roads and Maritime Services who are contributing $280,000 under their Repair and Improvement of Regional Roads program.
