The Mid-North Coast service has joined forces with Ray White Port Macquarie for a donation drive to collect new undies and socks as Christmas gifts for the homeless.

Orange Sky Australia service manager Alison Neale said undies and socks were one of the last items people bought if they were homeless or really struggling with money.

“I don’t care who you are, it’s the one thing nobody likes to get second hand,” she said.

The donated undies and socks will given out during the Orange Sky Laundry van’s shifts in December.

Ray White Port Macquarie property manager Nicole Prince said there were a lot of homeless people out there who needed as much help as possible.

She said Ray White Port Macquarie jumped on board to support the undie and sock drive.

The donation drive is part of Orange Sky Laundry’s November 18 first birthday celebrations and volunteer and community thank you on the Town Green.

People can drop off donations of socks and undies at Ray White Port Macquarie at 76 Horton Street until the end of November or at the Town Green celebration.

The community is invited to the celebrations on the Town Green on November 18 between noon and 2pm.

The mobile laundry service runs eight shifts a week providing free laundry and conversations with people experiencing homelessness on the Mid-North Coast.

“People are starting to rely and know we will be there and look forward to that as well,” Mrs Neale said.​
