Ladies Golf Club President Lyn Hobson said the 7th annual Pamper Day charity golf tournament had been a spectacular success, attracting lady golfers from Coffs Harbour, Crescent Head, Frederickton, Taree, Harrington Waters, Kew, Port Macquarie, South West Rocks, Kempsey, Wingham, Urunga and Muswellbrook.
“We had 124 players who all enjoyed a four-person ambrose at the beautiful Wauchope Country Club,” Mrs Hobson said.
“Our major sponsors were Dr Warwick Hain and Beryl Taylor, and we sincerely thank them for their support year after year. Our Wauchope Lady Golfers also supported the day with cash donations, raffle prizes and purchasing raffle tickets.
“A big thank you all who supported the event, including the Wauchope Men’s Veterans Golf Club which donated $200.”
Mrs Hobson said the 2019 Pamper Day would be held in September, and she hoped the community would once again get behind the day in support of Wauchope Palliative Care.
Nursing Unit Manager Mary Trotter said the Lady Golfers were wonderful supporters of the Palliative Care Unit.
“We really are very grateful to the Lady Golfers for their ongoing support over the past seven years,” Ms Trotter said.
“Their hard work has helped us to buy medical equipment, has helped furnish the unit, has supported an arts therapy program and purchased patient comfort items.
“The ladies and the sponsors really are an important part of our Palliative Care team at Wauchope, and we thank everyone who was involved. Your support makes a very practical and tangible difference to our patients, their families and loved ones.”
