The Member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey MP, has announced that the Oxley electorate has secured grant funding totaling $330,000 from the 2018 Community Building Partnership program.
The funds will be used to enhance 23 local facilities and community infrastructure. Mrs Pavey said works will begin at the diverse range of projects in the New Year.
“The popular and very competitive CBP funding program aims to help local organisations support their communities.
“This grassroots funding delivers infrastructure upgrades and helps pay for improvements in facilities, parks and clubs.”
Some of the larger projects which successfully obtained a CBP grant in 2018 include:
- Macksville High School P & C - stadium refurbishment - $15,000
- Dorrigo Swim Club - club and community shed - $11,620
- Bellingen Scout Hall - bathroom and roof repair - $12,000
- Bellinger River Ag Soc. - dairy cattle pavilion re-roof and refurb - $49,150
- Rotary Club of Dorrigo - coronation park playground - $25,000
- South West Rocks Cricket Club Inc. - facility upgrade - $32,230
- Kalang Progress Association - playground and fitness facility - $20,000
- Frank Partridge VC Military Museum ; hoist - $3,385 and signage - $9,478
- Volunteer Marine Rescue NSW Marine Nambucca Base - $10,000
- Riding for the Disabled Association Wauchope - feed shed - $6,480
- Stuarts Point Preschool Association - playground update - $15,000
- Wauchope RSL Cricket Club - wicket roller - $20,000
- Bellinger Community Communications Co-op - $12,226
- Macksville Country Club - beautification of entryway - $24,384
