There were teams from the local region, Ballina and Tamworth at the comp on November 24 and 25. The teams were to consist of one member being under 35 years of age and the other over 35 years of age and a 10 year age gap.
Wauchope Fitness Centre owner, Andrew Welsh, partnered up with his daughter and fitness instructor, Natalie in the Intermediate Mixed Pairs and Glenn Wilton partnered his daughter, Charlotte in the Beginner Mixed Pairs section.
Over the two days, teams had to complete seven workouts, starting the weekend with a beach workout. The competition included testing their strength, endurance, speed, agility and ability to work together as a team.
Andrew and Natalie ended up taking out the title of winners of the Intermediate Mixed Pairs section while Glenn and Charlotte took second place on the podium of the Beginner Mixed Pairs.
Both teams said they enjoyed being able to team up with their respective family member and were tested in each workout and were very happy to come away with podium finishes. They all stated that their consistent training and workouts at Wauchope Fitness Centre were testament to how they handled the physical aspect of the competition.
