Last month, 16 students from Wauchope Public School travelled to Sydney with teachers Cathryn Whiteoak and Vanessa Hollis to dance in the Schools Spectacular at Qudos Bank Arena.
The students travelled down by train and spent five nights in Sydney. The first two days were spent rehearsing alongside 450 other regional school dancers. Prior to this, the students from Wauchope Public School had spent hours learning routines and rehearsing.
"It is incredible how the students from regional areas across NSW come together for two days to piece together an amazing performance," said Ms Whiteoak.
Bonnie Clark was selected from the group as an A+ dancer where she learned extra routines to perform alongside high school students and be on stage throughout these performances.
5500 dancers and 2700 choir members make up the spectacular show which was performed four times across Friday and Saturday.
"All of the girls did an amazing job and represented our regional area with pride. They danced beautifully and are excited to be a part of it again one day soon," added Ms Whiteoak.
Schools Spectacular show is telecast on Saturday December 8th at 7pm on Channel 7.
