Spokesperson from the Laurieton Swimming Club Kate Dwyer said competitors travelled from the Hunter Valley in the south, to Sawtell in the north to attend the carnival.
There were 123 competitors from junior dolphins to senior ages.
Kate said young Rali Pensini from Laurieton scored his first ever swimming medal at the tender age of three years old (nearly four years old).
The sponsored handicap races, a dash for cash, had the crowd up on their feet cheering for their local club's representative in the junior and senior races for boys and girls.
