Some have definite plans and some are considering future options after getting the Higher School Certificate (HSC) subject results and the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
Former school captain Owen McKittrick was happy with what he got.
“I got 82.75 which was well above what I needed for my courses, teaching or communications at the University of Technology Sydney or Macquarie University,” he said.
Before he goes on to do a degree, Owen is going to work in a boarding school in England for a year.
Jayde Willingham said her results were all right and she found the exams pretty hard. She’s glad they’re over now, and she will be doing a a Bachelor of Maths and Science degree at Newcastle University, after a gap year.
Gabby Caruana said her results were all right and she could have done a bit better. She plans to work for a year to save up enough money to go to university.
“I would love to study veterinary science and anything to do with animals,” she said.
Shauna Pope has got into the University of New England in Armidale to study nursing, and she plans to go travelling first.
Madeline Boxhall is also going to do nursing next year at Southern Cross uni in Coffs Harbour.
Monique Copelin, former school captain, wants to become a police officer. She described her results as average, and she hopes to get into the police academy in Goulburn.
Jake Raddatz says he stressed out, as everybody does, over the exams, but in general, his results weren’t too bad.
“I managed to do pretty well and I want to go and get a job. Anything that makes money will do,” he joked.
Josh Jones was quite pleased with his results but says he has no clue about what he wants to do.
“I will probably save up some money and go to university. I would like to do criminology or law in Armidale or at Charles Sturt in Port Macquarie,” he said.
