Police warn about thieves targeting fishing equipment

Police are reminding all boat owners in the Mid North Coast to make sure they remove their fishing and boating equipment from their vessels when not in use.

They say thieves target boats on trailers for rods and reels, depth sounders or fishfinders, life jackets, fridges and tackle boxes.

“Please put them inside your home, locked cabin or caravan and not in an open annexe,” said a police spokesman.

Anyone with information about suspicious activity or possible stolen items should contact police in Port Macquarie on 6583 0199 or use the confidential Crime Stoppers number: 1800 333 000 or go to the website at https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.Information
