McHugh was on centre court on Monday, January 7 when Rafael Nadal, Milos Raonic, John Millman and Nick Kyrgios continued their Australian summer of tennis campaigns.
The Kendall Tennis Club junior had already been in action on court one at the Sydney International..
Club president Wendy Hudson said there are about 80 juniors which make up the NSW ball squad with only 16 selected for the Fast4 tournament.
“It’s a great achievement for him considering its only his second year,” Hudson said.
“He’s a pretty handy tennis player too and it’s a great opportunity to be on centre court.”
The 13-year-old is a regular in the Junior Development Series.
