Toastmasters coming to Wauchope for special night

Would you like to improve your public speaking and leadership skills?  Port Macquarie Toastmasters are coming to Wauchope and everyone is welcome to come along and see what the organisation is all about.

They will hold their regular meeting at the Senior Citizens Hall beside the council chambers in High Street on Wednesday January 30 from 7pm to 9pm.

Toastmasters is a worldwide organization which has its centre in the USA. It involves a group of people of all ages and from all walks of life, meeting together on a regular basis, two or three times a month.

The meetings are very structured and last two hours.  At the meeting, various tasks have been assigned to the members to perform, within a certain timeframe. All tasks involve speaking and listening.

A toastmaster is the person who proposes toasts, introduces speakers and makes formal announcements at social events.

Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive learning environment.  Members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills which result in improved self confidence and personal growth.
