What a bottler: talking to a lady in Wollongong on the web last night, and she says she has a family photo of Wauchope, so I begged and it was worth it.

The photo, taken in the 1920s is of the Commercial Bank in Cameron Street (now Jacaranda House). It was taken by her father, Adam Forrest Grant, wanting to see a piece of his family history back then.
The story goes like this:
'Miss Hepzibah Fremlin, daughter of Alfred Reginald Fremlin of Botany Bay, met Ernest Henry Hart at the Commercial Bank Wauchope...Heppy was being chased by a nasty, cranky goat.
“She ran into the bank for help and Ernst chased the goat away...…. they married, had 2 daughters one being my grandmother, Barbara Hart who married Adam Forrest Grant. Oh, and they had a kid named David..... my dad. Is it true, or just family folklore? Helen Grant”
Perhaps someone in Wauchope can enlighten us.
