Wauchope has a new residents group and its first meeting is on Thursday February 7.
The Wauchope Area Committee was organised after a public meeting in Port Macquarie last October, when a number of interested residents from the Wauchope area nominated to join the committee.
The acting secretary, Greg Franks said that while the role will be similar to the now defunct Wauchope Progress Association, the new committee will:
- review and make submissions to the council where it sees fit on development applications
- make recommendations on problems affecting roads, trees, parks, public areas and other local issues, particularly in regard to the character of the area.
Interested people may attend a committee meeting, which is open to the public, and raise issues of concern. It’s also a chance to apply to join the committee.
The Wauchope Area Committee will meet at Wauchope Arts Hall in Oxley Lane beside Bain Park in Wauchope on Thursday February 7 at 7pm.
