Rotary Youth Leadership Awards provide an opportunity for young people aged 19 to 27 to take part in a challenging, week-long residential conference.
They discover ways to become a better role model and face decisions on important personal, work and social issues.
They also swap ideas, opinions and plans with other talented, energetic people, in a supportive atmosphere free from pressure and distraction.
And they develop close rapport with their local Rotary Club, acquainting them with a leading service organisation and decision-makers in the community.
This year’s local RYLA 2019 will be held on from Saturday March 30 to Saturday April 6 at Yarrahappinni Adventist Youth Centre in Grassy Head near Macksville.
Full board and tuition is $995.00. Find out more at https://www.rotary9650.org.au/ryla
Wauchope Rotary sponsor one person to go to RYLA and their youth committee is holding a Roller Skate for Rotary fundraiser on Friday February 22 at Planet X skating rink in Port Macquarie.
“It’s about the kids finding their own leadership potential, focusing on what you want to get out of life, what’s important to you, can you deal with challenges on the way through, and everybody who goes says it’s quite extraordinary,” said Loris Hendy from Wauchope Rotary.
“We will sell the tickets for $25 which includes three hours of skating and a slice of pizza,” she added.
