Wauchope's Morgan Jean is powering through the pool for 2019, as he prepares for the Australian Age Swimming Championships.

The sixteen year old swimming star has set his sights on the April 19 meet after returning from NSW Country Regional Meet Armidale with six firsts in multi-class and two personal bests from 11 events.
Morgan's sisters both swam well at the comp late last month, Kaitlin, 12, collecting a third place and Lauren, 14 gathering a fourth with five personal bests.
His mother, Tania Jean said Morgan was taking part in nine events for the swim champs, as well as the INAS Global Games on October 12.
"He's training five days a week... and once he's nailed a skill he's good at refining it," she said.
"Morgan's attended AustSwim course in the Christmas holidays to teach swimming lessons, he needs to do CPR to become a swimming instructor but he’s securing that future in something he enjoys."
Morgan swims open,multi-class events and has been awarded a North Coast recognition award for his swimming, he's guided by swimming coach Larry Brooks.
"We belong to a small club but its a social supportive network and a good community," said Tania Jean.
"Swimming is opening up opportunities for him, it has made high school easier for him.
"He wants to go to the Olympics, he aims high."
