The Catholic parish primary has 260 students, and principal Brendan Kiely says it is growing.
“We really excited for the kindergartens to begin with us this year. We have got 36 enrolments and we are looking forward to having some new families coming to our school,” he said.
“We have some new teachers this year – Mrs Emily Lipscombe, Mrs Gemma Leonard, Kinder teacher Mrs Vanessa Cain, Mrs Lori Galloway and Miss Rachel Walton, so we are really pleased. We had a retirement of our librarian, Mrs Robyn O’Brien, from the position of librarian for 30 years. They were big shoes to fill,” said Mr Kiely.
“We celebrated our 90th year last year, which was a big event for the school. We are looking forward to re-engaging with our families and the community. We’re also looking forward to the P&F Meet and Greet evening at the Wauchope Pool, School Cross Country and Sporting Carnivals, Celebrate Jesus in the Park as well as our St. Joseph's school Feast day Celebrations.”
This year’s school captains are Clay Atkin and Grace Keena and the vice-captains are Joel Holbert and Jubilee Mea.
