The proposal is for the construction of a vital link to improve transport infrastructure and connectivity between key business and residential hubs in our region, while also supporting an increase in traffic as our population grows.
Your feedback is critical to understanding the problems we face today, so we can design the right solutions for our future in the right places. This is your community, and if you want real change take the opportunity to speak up, so together we can make it happen.
The proposed road does present challenges, and I have met with many residents in the road’s investigation area, and acknowledge the uncertainty created for some property owners as investigation takes place for a large infrastructure project such as this.
I have also received feedback from many residents who look forward to an improved transport link that will provide increased business opportunities, shorter travel times, less congestion and safer traffic conditions.
I must reinforce council has only made the decision to investigate the feasibility of an Orbital Road at this time.
There is currently no approval or funding to start construction, and this will take many years of hard work to achieve.
There will be a number of drop-in information sessions in the coming weeks. I encourage the community to attend and ask questions of council staff, learn more and provide your thoughts.
For more information, get details on the drop-in sessions and have your say on the proposed Orbital Road project go to haveyoursay.pmhc.nsw.gov.au/orbital-road. I look forward to continuing to work closely with you all as we progress this important future project.
