In 2008, the group was formed when a the founder of Sing Australia Colin Slater OAM came along to explain what belonging was all about, and that is easy. You are not expected to have a ‘good voice’, nor do you have to have an audition.
“All that is necessary is a love of singing. We were the second group to start in the Hastings and Sing Australia is now nationwide,” said George Campbell.
“There are still many members who joined from the start; proof of the group’s success. As well as the personal enjoyment, we have watched the faces of those we entertain light up and feet begin to tap.
“Everyone is encouraged to join in with the singing. Our last gig was on Australia Day at the Showground Hall and we have visits to both Bundaleer facilities coming up,” he added.
Wauchope Sing Australia meet every Thursday at 4pm, except during school holidays and sing until 6pm with time in between to have a chat and get to know each other. Singing is a great way of relieving stress and everyone returns home afterwards with a song in their heart as well as on their lips.
So why not give it a try and maybe after the sing-a-long, stay at the Club and enjoy a meal in the Bistro.
