The infrastructure of a new ambulance station in Wauchope is welcome, but when I look across the road and I see we have lost services – no after-hours emergency service as the Emergency department no longer exists, no outpatients clinics at our local Wauchope hospital, and the ambulances ferrying people to Port Macquarie Base Hospital, which is already over-extended.

I think questions need to be asked about adequate, recurrent funding for services in our hospitals to keep them open.
This is equally important to the wellbeing of our town as is a new ambulance station.
