They've been invited to the Hockey NSW Awards night, where their U16's Woodcutters have been selected as a finalist for the Community Team of the Year.
Team coach Colin Pursehouse says the Woodcutters had a great year.
"Over half of our players only just moved up into this age group, and many new players, who had never picked up a hockey stick, joined our team," he said.
"These kids did an exceptional job throughout the 2018 season - they may not have won many games - but guaranteed every week they were their for training and games - all of them putting 120% into it.
"The leaps and bounds we saw them take throughout the year was astounding - They were a great bunch of kids to coach and the sportsmanship and teamwork they displayed was second to none."
He added that he was honoured and very proud that they had received the honour of this selection.
Mr Pursehouse, who last year was appointed as a Hockey NSW assistant coach for the NSW Country Women's team, will attend the awards night in their honour on Saturday February 23.
He said that be nominated for this award was just reward for all of the effort, the commitment, teamwork and joy of the game the Woodcutters displayed in the 2018 season.
"We at Wauchope Hockey Club could not be prouder," he said.
