Julz Parker and Leesa Gentz will take to the Wauchope Arts hall stage with their powerful musical performance style.
Julz Parker is widely recognised as one of Australia’s finest guitar players, and Leesa Gentz’s soaring vocals and warm stage presence have won her many fans. Playing together as the Hussy Hicks, the girls’ sound incorporates blues, folk, rock and soul.
Their recent performance at Woodford Folk Festival caught the eye of Wauchope Arts’ program director Krissa Wilkinson, who was quick to book them for the arts hall.
“The last couple of years we’ve chosen to celebrate International Women’s Day by highlighting the achievements of women in music,” Krissa explained.
“We’re extremely fortunate to have the chance to hear the Hussy Hicks play live, given the name they’ve made for themselves at leading festivals in Australia and overseas.
“The performance will be a real treat, and the timing is perfect in terms of our International Women’s Day theme.”
Tickets for Hussy Hicks on cost $25;$20 for members, and are available online at www.trybooking.com/BAPBQ or at the door from 7.30pm.
The local support act is The Snow Peez featuring Rob and Jan Snow.
